Project Partner Profile: Anagram Architects

This is a series of posts that shares more about the project partners and the important roles each plays

At its most basic level, Project Sammaan will provide functional sanitation facilities to slum communities that desperately need them. As such, the insights and learnings that led to the development of the project’s interventions need to be translated into brick-and-mortar buildings, meaning that an architectural firm, particularly one with a keen sense of function as well as form, is vital.

Anagram Architects is the lead architectural firm on Project Sammaan. They are an award-winning consultancy internationally recognized as amongst the top emerging practices in the world with a commitment towards delivering innovative, context specific designs that encourage sustainable lifestyles.

Anagram Architects is a full spectrum spatial design consultancy firm that offers expertise in urbanism, architecture, interior design, and research. They are leading the architectural design of the 119 facilities. As such, they will provide site-specific architectural designs, consult on waste management issues, and oversee facility construction.

These designs are developed by Anagram Architects, in consultation with Quicksand and J-PAL, to ensure that the designs take into account learnings from the Potty Project, as well as feedback and inputs from the communities that these are meant to serve. Anagram Architects is also responsible for translating the designs into tender documents, as required by government processes.
